Card and blend fibres and colours quickly and efficiently.
This new model has even more flexibility and control when carding and blending. The controlled intake and carding will produce a smooth even batt ready for blending, spinning or felting. Adjustable drum clearance - allows you to set the teeth distance for total control of your fibre.
All nylon bearings ensure it is light and easy to turn. The card cloth has wire teeth with a special protective coating and a flexible rubber backing for long life. The carder is strong and robust with the body made from Silver Beech hardwood.
It comes assembled and lacquered ready to use.

Right tool for the job...
Once word gets out that you’re a Spinner you may have found that fleece donations just start to breed in your stash. Or perhaps you have an animal or two on your own hobby farm? Well, this big boy is perfect for saving you time processing large quantities of fibre, up to 100grams, in one go!
The 72 point carding cloth can handle a wide range of microns from fine combed mill tops to courser locks and texture-adding fibres making it a great all-rounder for those who like to experiment. For very fine fibres you can do a second pass through the carder for beautifully smooth results and for textured art batts you can feed larger chunks of textured fibres straight onto the large drum.
Of course Ashford thinks of everything and includes a packer brush, cleaning brush, doffer and clamps which means you can use it straight out of the box with no fluffing around trying to locate the extra bits and bobs you need.

Do you sell replacement cloth for the drum carders?
Hello and great question.
No, we do not sell replacement cloth for the drum carders. The cloth is specifically manufactured for Ashford and only sold as part of the drum carder. The reason for this is that it is fitted onto the drums under special tensioning using designed methods in the factory that result in a very durable drum carder. Our customers often boast that their Ashford Drum Carder is still going 30 years after purchase.
