Cottolin is a blend of 70% cotton and 30% linen. Ashford describes it as more absorbent than pure cotton and easier to weave than pure linen, so you get the softness of cotton with a little of linen's lovely crispness.
It's made for the things you'll reach for every day, like tea towels, tablecloths and homewares, and it's lovely for garments too. Ashford also says you can use it in any project that calls for 8/2 cotton, which opens up plenty of patterns.
There are 18 colours, from Bleached White and Natural White through to Tulip, Turquoise Green and Jet Set Black. If you'd like a hand choosing colours that work together, or working out how much to order, just get in touch. I read every email myself.
