She comes with everything you need to get started and she folds neatly back into her bag so you don't have to leave her behind when you head out the door.
Meet Joy. She is exactly that and more. Available in single or double treadle the choice is yours.
This compact wheel is light weight (6kg/13lb) and portable with folding treadle, built-in lazy kate and carry handle. Fold and go, it can be carried easily in cars, as carry-on luggage in planes (check with your airline first as this varies from aircraft to aircraft) and takes up little space at home. Spin a variety of yarns using the four ratios. The stretchy drive cord does not require any adjustment as you change from one ratio to another and always maintains the correct tension. The wheel and flyer are mounted on ball bearings for effortless spinning. Smooth and quiet with treadles mounted on polyurethane hinges to allow a comfortable heel-toe action. The wheel comes assembled and lacquered, ready for spinning.

Do the bobbins for the Joy 2 fit the Joy 1?
Thank you for your question. This is a good question.
The bobbins for the Joy 1, as standard, are the Standard Bobbins (smaller ones). However, if you have the Sliding Hook Flyer with your Joy then these take the Jumbo Bobbins and Jumbo Bobbins are what comes as standard with the Joy 2 (since your Joy 2 comes complete with the flyer)
I have a joy double treadle what is the best place to have the drive band on Ispin fine wool singles most of the time Thankyou
Your Joy 2 has 4 Ratio settings.
14:1 (14 turns of the spinning wheel and flyer per 1 treadle) - use the smaller groove
11:1 (11 turns of the spinning wheel and flyer per 1 treadle) - use the next groove up
8:1 (8 turns of the spinning wheel and flyer per 1 treadle) - go up a groove again
6:1 (6 turns of the spinning wheel and flyer per 1 treadle) - use the bigger groove
When Spinning coarse fibres or thick yarns usee the slowest flyer speed of 6:1, for fine fibres and yarns step it up to the faster speed(s). You may have to have a play around until you get the right set up.
I hope you find this information useful.
