We’ve now added UNmercerised cotton to our weaving yarn ranges.
Our new unmercerised cotton is available in two weaving weights 10/2 and 5/2 in your choice of 18 vibrant colours. Please click HERE to view a colourcard.
BRIGHT, FUN and FABULOUS!!
Unmercerised has less sheen and more of a natural cotton look and feel than the mercerised cotton. It also wicks quicker making it a weavers favourite for hand towels, napkins and tea towels.

Right Material for the Job…
These cottons are absolutely beautiful to work with. They have just the right amount of lustre to really enhance fine weaving patterns and the large range of colours complement each other so well. The strength of this cotton is excellent making it perfect for warping. Your woven pieces will have good drape, last well wash after wash and most of all feel lovely to wear.
Refer to your project pattern to determine how much cotton you will need to complete your project. It is always better to get a little more than you need especially when sampling or if you get a tad over-zealous with your beating; don’t worry, we have all been there!
If you are new to weaving you could also check out our range of Ashford weaving books. They contain a lovely little treasure trove of tips, tricks and patterns to get you started.
Please note that not all cottons are available for shipment at the date of order. We have a continuous order of cotton arriving however we struggle to keep up with demand.
Should you require your cotton ASAP please contact us before placing an order to get information of stock availability.
